A steam and water analysis system (short: SWAS) is an arrangement of equipment for sampling and analysis of hot water samples or steam samples, in order to monitor the water chemistry of steam boiler plants or hot water boiler plants. For example, in steam boiler plants operating in →"low TDS" operating mode, typical sampling points include condensate, boiler feed water, boiler water, saturated steam, and main steam.
Typically, this equipment includes →sample coolers, sampling cation exchangers, pipelines, valves, and instrumentation, all arranged onto a sampling rack. A sampling system will usually allow both continuous sampling for automated on-line analysis of key parameters, and grab sampling for manual analysis of secondary parameters.
Continuous cooling water flow is required for cooling the samples down to analysis temperature.
Steam and water analysis system (SWAS) for sampling and analysis of boiler feed water, boiler water, and steam. Including sample coolers, cation exchanger columns, pipelines, valves, and instrumentation; completely pre-assembled on sampling rack.
